One area not covered well is that of Capacity Management, Capman Systems are therefore pleased to offer a fully hosted service to provide Capacity Management for your key IT services.

Description

An automated on-line Capacity Management service that provides current reports for your IT infrastructure viewed by individual IT system. 

The reports will address the core capacity management metrics of IT performance including

· CPU, busy and Queuing
· Memory usage and paging activity
· I/O, busy and queuing
· Network utilisation
· Disk space usage

Additional metrics can be included, such as Java garbage collection or business usage statistics

What is involved ?

We will work with your platform support specialists to set up the daily collection of key system performance metrics from your IT systems and transfer them electronically to our data centre for processing. 

This data will be processed overnight so that the Daily Traffic Light reports will be available for viewing from 7am in the morning.

Monthly Capacity Trend reports will be produced during the first week of the month ready to be viewed by the 2nd working week. Where available, business data will be included in the report. 

Following production of the report it will be analysed by Capacity Management experts to establish if there are any trends that require further investigation. Where appropriate, additional reports will be produced and recommendations for possible infrastructure changes made.

Annual Capacity Plans can be produced. These will include analysis of past performance, analysis of past and predicted business activity and analysis of major application and/or infrastructure changes. Once this information has been assimilated a capacity plan showing expected resource usage for the following 12-18 months will be produced along with any recommendations for changes to the infrastructure needed to support the expected growth. The plan will also incorporate seasonal variations where appropriate. The predictions created will be used in the monthly capacity trend report to track actual usage against that predicted.
